WHAT IS PSYCHOTHERAPY?

Psychotherapy is the use of psychological methods to explore and address presenting issues, helping a person improve their mental health and overall wellbeing. Psychotherapists create a safe space that will allow you to develop more self-understanding and appreciation, discover unrecognised strengths, build resilience, expand capacity to resolve problems when they arise, and improve your ability to reach your potential. It is more effective when based on regular interaction with the therapist.

WHAT IS DRAMATHERAPY?

Dramatherapists are registered and regulated by the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC), having undertaken a Master's level training. Dramatherapy is a form of Psychotherapy.
Many dramatherapists are also independent artists and/or researchers. Often having a background in theatre, health, or education, drawing on their knowledge of theatre and therapy to use as a medium for psychological. Therapy that may include drama, story-making, music, movement, and art, to work with presenting issues. Clients are able to explore issues and needs from autism, dementia, to physical/sexual abuse and mental illness, leading to psychological, emotional and social changes.

Dramatherapists can be found in settings such as schools, mental health care, general health, social care, prisons and in the voluntary sector. Dramatherapists work therapeutically with a diverse range of individuals, groups and organisations who experience significant difficulties.
